6 Things You Can Do To Achieve A Fresh And Rested Look

6 Things You Can Do to Achieve A Fresh and Rested Look

Let's face it: achieving a rested and fresh appearance can feel like an uphill battle. A healthy glow between busy schedules and the ever-present temptation of late-night screen time can seem elusive. But fear not!

In this guide, Barbie's Beauty Bits unveils six powerful strategies beyond quick fixes and help you cultivate a naturally fresh look from the inside out.

Exploring The World Of Cosmetic Treatments

One way to enhance your appearance without a complete lifestyle overhaul is through cosmetic treatments. They offer a variety of options to achieve a rejuvenated, well-rested look. From under eye filler to Botox, these procedures can address specific concerns and boost your confidence.

One of the main benefits of cosmetic treatments is that they are noninvasive. They involve minimal discomfort and downtime, making them an excellent option for those looking for subtle improvements without a major commitment. Although cosmetic treatments may seem like a quick fix, it's important to approach them thoughtfully. Thorough research is crucial.

Here are some steps to ensure a positive experience:

  • Verify Qualifications:  Always choose a licensed and experienced professional. Research their background and certifications.
  • Embrace Transparency: Reviews and social media platforms like RealSelf offer valuable insights from real patients. Read them to get a well-rounded perspective.
  • Realistic Expectations: Understand that cosmetic treatments often require maintenance sessions for sustained results. Discuss this openly with your provider.

Beauty Sleep: Unlocking The Power Of Blue Light Blocking (for Better Zzz's!)

Ever wonder why you wake up feeling less than radiant, even after a full night's sleep? You're not alone! Many of us struggle with the elusive beauty sleep. And you want to know what the culprit is? Using our phones or other devices before bed.

You see, our electronic devices emit blue light, which disrupts the production of melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleep. Studies show that exposure to blue light before bed can significantly impact our ability to fall asleep and achieve deep, restorative sleep.

To improve your sleep, try putting down your blue light devices (phones, laptops, tablets) 1-2 hours before bed. This allows your body time to wind down and naturally produce melatonin, the sleep hormone that regulates your sleep-wake cycle.

Other factors beyond blue light contribute to sleep troubles. Unhealthy lifestyle habits like irregular sleep schedules or a diet heavy in processed foods can also contribute to sleep troubles. Consulting a doctor is a great first step if you struggle to get your beauty sleep. They can help identify underlying medical conditions and develop a personalized sleep plan.

How Daily Exercises Can Help You Look And Feel Young

Incorporating regular exercise into your routine can improve your appearance. People who lead sedentary lifestyles tend to age more rapidly than active people who prioritize exercise daily.

There are many different types of exercise that you can do. You can perform calisthenic exercises at home if you do not enjoy going to the gym. You can watch many free workout programs on YouTube that can keep you fit and healthy.

Calisthenic exercises are a great way to get in shape and improve your appearance without leaving home. If you are going to incorporate bodyweight routines at home, buy some yoga mats and a pull up bar. Yoga mats provide cushioning when you are performing exercises on the ground.

Remember, every little beauty tip for the busy career woman like myself helps! While I work all day sitting in front of a computer. I make sure to set an alarm every hour to get up and do some exercises. There are some fantastic 7-minute ab workouts, arm workouts, and full-body workouts on the internet. And who does not have time for that?

Beyond The Scale: The Beauty Benefits Of A Healthy Diet

A healthy diet is crucial for looking and feeling your best. Poor eating habits will hold you back no matter how much you exercise. It's true – there is a connection between food and your skin. As the saying goes, you are what you eat. If you consume nothing but junk, you will look and feel that way.

Achieving a healthy diet isn’t difficult. Focus on consuming more whole fruits and vegetables and eliminating processed foods. Also, aim to reduce your sugar and sodium intake. If you tend to snack, plan ahead by packing nutritious snacks to avoid reaching for unhealthy options at work.

Consider consulting a nutritionist to help establish a healthy and sustainable diet. A nutritionist can guide you in making healthy choices and transforming your diet into one that benefits your well-being. Before choosing a nutritionist, it's important to read reviews to ensure they are qualified to assist you.

Incorporating Daily Supplements

The average person’s diet provides nowhere near the amount of nutrients that they really need. If you are struggling to up your nutritional intake, consider taking supplements. Supplements are an excellent way to give your body a nutritional boost and improve your appearance.

When it comes to supplements, it's essential to ensure you are getting high-quality products. Do your research and carefully examine the ingredients. Avoid unnecessary additives and fillers. While these may be more expensive, it's crucial to prioritize quality over cost. It's important to note that the FDA regulates dietary supplements, but many products can be sold without prior FDA notification. So, do your research.

Exposure To The Outdoors For A Younger You

Stop the screen time and welcome the green time, by getting outside! I know I am one to talk, as I sit in front of a computer all day for work. But taking a walk and enjoying the outdoors is a must for a healthy, long life.

An excellent way to motivate yourself to get outside more is to find a hobby. Something like hiking, walking along the beach, or riding a bike is good for you both physically and mentally. Another thing to do is make some changes in your life. For example, if you drive your car to the mailbox daily, walk instead. Or try parking farther away from the office door. When shopping, park further away. These activities add up.

The Final Polish: Unveiling Your Most Radiant Self

Remember, achieving a fresh and rested look is a journey, not a destination. By incorporating these strategies into your routine, you'll be well on your way to a naturally radiant you.

Always consult a qualified professional to discuss your goals and ensure a safe and successful experience. With the right approach, you can unveil your most confident and beautiful self, both inside and out.

Understanding Dark Circles: What Causes Them And How To Treat Them

Understanding Dark Circles: What Causes Them And How To Treat Them

Ever wake up feeling refreshed, only to be met by those pesky shadows under your eyes? Dark circles can be a frustrating beauty concern, making you look tired even after a good night's sleep.

But fear not! According to research, around 50% to 60% of people experience this common beauty concern. While they may be a nuisance, dark circles are usually harmless. So before you resign yourself to a lifetime of concealer, let's explore what is causing them.

This article dives deep into the causes of dark circles, helping you understand why they appear and what you can do to banish them. From lifestyle changes to potential treatments, Barbie's Beauty Bits will equip you with the knowledge to finally say goodbye to those pesky shadows!

What Causes Dark Circles Under Your Eyes?

Here are some of the common causes of dark circles under the eyes:

Aging Contributes To Dark Circles Under Eyes

We all seek to prevent the signs of aging, but it's essential to understand that dark circles under the eyes become a common problem as we age. This is because the skin naturally becomes thinner and loses collagen and fat, making blood vessels more visible. As a result, dark circles can appear, particularly in older individuals.

Sun Exposure: Unmasking The Sun's Impact On Dark Under-Eye Circles

A love-hate relationship with the sun is common, and this is particularly true for the delicate skin around our eyes. The sun's UV rays can damage the collagen and elastin in the skin, leading to skin thinning and visible blood vessels. Furthermore, exposure to the sun can also trigger melanin production, which can cause pigmentation to develop around the eyes.

A Lack Of Sleep Causes Dark Circles

Not getting enough sleep is one of the biggest causes of dark circles. When you don’t get your beauty sleep, blood vessels under the thin skin around your eyes can dilate and become more prominent. This increased blood flow can make the area appear darker or more shadowed.

Eye Issues From Eczema Causes Dark Circles

Medical conditions like eczema, or atopic dermatitis, is a chronic inflammatory skin condition characterized by redness, itching, and flakiness. In fact, in some cases, eczema can affect the skin around the eyes, causing irritation, swelling, and darkening of the under-eye area.

Allergies As A Cause Of Dark Circles

Allergic reactions, such as hay fever or allergic dermatitis, can cause inflammation and swelling around the eyes, leading to the formation of dark circles. Itching can further aggravate the condition, and rubbing the eyes can cause irritation.

Treatment Options For Dark Circles

Now, let’s discuss some of the most effective treatment options to reduce the appearance and rid of dark circles:

Addressing Dark Circles Through Cosmetic Treatments

One of the best ways to eliminate dark circles is through cosmetic procedures. Some procedures, like eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty, are really effective in treating dark circles.

So, how does blepharoplasty help to reduce dark under-eye circles?

Well, blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, involves removing excess fat, skin, and muscle from the upper and/or lower eyelids to address sagging skin, puffiness, and under-eye bags.

During the procedure, incisions are carefully made along the eyelids' natural creases to minimize visible scarring.

By tightening and reshaping the eyelids, blepharoplasty can help improve the overall contour and symmetry of the eyes, creating a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

Before undergoing the procedure, consulting with experts like blepharoplasty by Dr. Sturm can be a better option. The experts can guide you well about the procedure and give you some aftercare tips as well.

Lighten Dark Under Eye Circles With Masks And Cold Compresses

Some DIY remedies for dark circles include eye masks and cold compresses. Applying chilled cucumber slices, tea bags, or specialized eye masks can help reduce inflammation by constricting blood vessels.

The cold temperature can also help soothe tired eyes and improve circulation, promoting a refreshed and revitalized appearance. So, with these home remedies, such as eye masks and cold compresses, you can quickly get relief from dark circles and puffiness.

Skincare Products To Diminish Dark Circles

There are tons of skincare products to banish under eye issues. Topical creams are convenient solutions for treating skin beneath the eyes, and helping with dark circles. They contain beneficial ingredients like vitamin C, retinol, and hyaluronic acid, which improve skin texture and reduce pigmentation.

By regularly applying these creams to the under-eye area, you can boost collagen production, lighten dark spots, and hydrate the skin. Consistent use of topical creams can help diminish the appearance of dark circles.

Sleep Your Way To Brighter Eyes

As we mentioned above, lack of sleep is one of the primary causes of dark circles, puffy eyelids, or hollows. Not only can you sleep your way to younger-looking skin, but you can also reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes. Aim for at least 8-9 hours of sleep.

Try to avoid caffeine, screens, and stimulating activities before going to bed.

Summing Up

Dark circles under the eyes can be a source of frustration and self-consciousness for people of all ages, but understanding the underlying causes and available treatment options can help effectively address this common concern.

However, consulting with a dermatologist or healthcare provider for personalized recommendations tailored to your specific needs is also recommended.

6 Essential Skincare Products For Banishing Tired Looking Eyes

6 Essential Skincare Products For Banishing Tired Looking Eyes

If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then we certainly want those windows to sparkle and shine, free from the signs of the daily grind and a good night's not-so-sleep. From dark circles to puffiness, the delicate skin around the eyes can show the world just how much or how little TLC you've given it.

Here are six top-tier essential skincare solutions that will rejuvenate your tired-looking eyes. Read on.

The Miracle Worker: Eye Cream With Retinol

We often associate retinol with fighting lines and wrinkles and anti-aging- for good reason: It works. Eye creams infused with retinol are your secret weapon against banishing dead skin cells that accentuate fine lines and crow's feet around the eyes.

Known for promoting increased collagen production, retinol-rich eye treatments not only smooth out existing wrinkles but also prevent their formation. From the busy, overworked college students to the wiser, experienced folk, this product is a universal remedy for breathing youthfulness back into the eyes.

Brighten The Day: Vitamin C Serum

Vitamin C has become a skincare must. It is praised for its amazing antioxidant benefits and ability to combat dullness and discoloration. When incorporated into an eye serum, it can dramatically reduce the appearance of dark under-eye circles.

This leaves the under-eye area looking brighter and more awake. Double down on the benefits by ensuring the serum contains hyaluronic acid, which keeps the skin hydrated and plump to amplify your daily glow-up.

Zero Dark Circles: Caffeine-Infused Eye Gel

If you look like you had a sleepless night, try some Caffeine. It isn't just for perking up your morning—when used in an eye gel, it constricts the blood vessels to diminish the look of under-eye puffiness and reduces inflammation. For an added boost, try some caffeine-infused eye patches that help with blood flow circulation and reduce dark circles. These quick fixes provide the instant gratification you crave on those zombie-like mornings.

Cool, Calm, and Hydrated: Hyaluronic Acid Eye Masks

If your eyes are crying out for a moisture overhaul, then hyaluronic acid eye masks are the drench of hydration they need. These soothing patches replenish the skin's moisture barrier, leaving your under-eyes taut and refreshed.

Perfect for a mid-week pick-me-up or a pre-event pamper session, the cooling effect brings instant relaxation while doing the hard work beneath the surface. Another great example of this is the chamomile GlowGear DREAMGLOW warming eye mask.

The Power Couple: Dual-Action Eye Serums

These hybrids combine several potent ingredients to tackle different eye area problems simultaneously. Look for serums with various actives, including peptides to support skin structure, botanical extracts to reduce pigmentation, and antioxidants to fend off environmental damage. A dual-action serum streamlines your routine without sacrificing any ingredients you need for radiant, youthful eyes.

SPF, Your Eyes' Unsung Hero

It's easy to forget that the skin around your eyes is just as susceptible to sun damage as the rest of your facial skin. UV exposure can lead to fine lines, puffy eyes, dark spots, and other signs of aging.

Incorporating an SPF specifically designed for the eye area is crucial for long-term eye health. When looking for an eye-specific SPF, choose a gentle formula that won't irritate your eyes and helps keep your skin looking and feeling its best.

Take Care of Your Tired Looking Eyes

With these six essentials in your skin care arsenal, the battle against tired-looking eyes is well and truly on. Remember, consistency is key. A daily regimen incorporating these powerhouse skincare products is the surest path to bright, lively eyes that reflect your inner glow.

Whether you're a beauty enthusiast, skincare newbie, or somewhere in between, taking good care of your eyes is a universal and never-ending endeavor. Happy pampering!

Eye Wrinkles 101: Causes, Preventions, And At-Home Treatments

Eye Wrinkles 101: Causes, Preventions, And At-Home Treatments, By Barbies Beauty Bits

Eye Wrinkles 101: Causes, Preventions, And At-Home Treatments From Barbie's Beauty Bits

Mark Twain once said, "Wrinkles merely mark where smiles have been" however, smiling isn't entirely to blame for your wrinkles. Wrinkles result from a lot of factors and are completely natural and inevitable. Still, it's normal to feel self-conscious about them, especially if you feel like they make you look older than you are.

So, if you want to find ways to get a head start of the aging process with the causes, prevention's, and ways to banish those eye wrinkles, needle, and knife-free. Including using green tea and skincare products like Hyalo AI Beauty, Matcha Shot Eye Serum, continue reading.

What Are Wrinkles
Wrinkles are grouped into two different categories: static wrinkles and dynamic wrinkles.

Let's start with the Dynamic Wrinkles first, as these are ones formed by our actions. The pesky wrinkles appear from facial expressions like smiling or squinting but fade when the expression stops. However, if these habits become continual, they will eventually become more profound, and a crease can form.

This leads us to the following type of wrinkle, Static Wrinkles, appearing even when the face is at rest. This wrinkle formation is caused by those muscle contractions in our face, from repeated facial expressions and movements (e.g., frequent frowning, furrowing your brow, etc., as we mentioned above).

Over time the creases get more profound and more permanent because the skin loses its ability to snap back into place. Guess mom knew something when she said, "Stop making faces," or our favorite, "Stop frowning; your face will freeze that way."

Most Common Reasons We Get Eye Wrinkles, Barbies Beauty Bits

Most Common Reasons We Get Eye Wrinkles
We briefly touched on this above, with one of the most common causes for fine lines wrinkles formation being facial expressions. But there are other factors aside from facial expressions, and the years of birthdays can lead to wrinkles.

No. 1: Exposure To Free Radicals
Two of the most visible effects of free radicals are wrinkles and collagen breakdown. While avoiding total exposure to free radicals is almost impossible, it is possible to delay the process by limiting our exposure to unnecessary free radicals and several external culprits like pollution, overexposure to the sun, and even ingredients in makeup that can cause early signs of aging.

No 2: Everyday Habits
Several other factors, including our daily choices, can also influence the aging of our skin:

  • Sleeping on your stomach with your face buried in a cotton pillow
  • Staring at a computer all-day
  • Looking down at your phone
  • Drinking too much alcohol
  • Squinting
  • People who suffer from insomnia or disturbed, erratic sleep cycles
  • Eating processed foods
  • UV rays
  • Not wearing sunscreen daily

No. 3: Aging
When we age, the desquamation process slows down (the process of shedding old skin), our skin gradually loses collagen and elastin, making it loose and saggy. Also, dry skin as our sebum production (oil production) weakens with age, making our skin more dehydrated and wrinkled.

No. 4: Genetics
Our DNA may predict more about us than the way we look. According to the genetic theory of aging, our genes and mutations in these genes are responsible for how we age. Our DNA molecules deteriorate with time and prevent cell replication, which leads to wrinkles and other signs of aging.

The different types of facial wrinkles, by barbies beauty bits

The Common Places We See Wrinkles
You look in the mirror, and what are those crinkly areas around the eyes that you see? Crow's feet! While we may say the eyes are the windows to our souls, they present a clear picture of something else; premature aging, as unfortunately, this thin, delicate skin around the eyes is one of the first to show signs of aging skin.

The eyes are not the only place where the skin ages. There are other areas on the face that show wrinkles, as our entire face has more than likely fallen prey to sun exposure over the years. Plus, did you know that there are 42 individual muscles on the face? That's considerable potential for the appearance of lines associated with muscle contractions, such as:

Frown Lines: These develop as facial muscles contract with every frown. ALSO, frown lines are connected to other muscles responsible for depressing and lowering the brow, resulting in wrinkles.

Those Pesky 11's: These two vertical lines form between your eyebrows that look like the number 11. Repeated motion furrows the skin between the eyebrows leading to wrinkles over time.

Forehead Wrinkles:
These wrinkles are usually horizontal and can become very deep and prominent over the years. Aside from repeated facial expressions like raising your eyebrows, most have a deeper set from bad lifestyle choices, like not wearing sunscreen.

Ways To Prevent And Reduce Eye Wrinkles At Home
Now that you know some of the causes of facial wrinkles, some preventive measures, even some at-home beauty treatments, can minimize and reduce the appearance of wrinkles found around the eye area.

  • Sun protection – Nothing looks better in your 50's than sunscreen in your 20's. You also want to make sure you wear a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and seek shade, not sun.
  • Keep yourself well hydrated – Dehydration can wreak havoc on the skin, including pronounced lines, especially around the eyes. Drinking plenty of water and eating hydrating foods assist in keeping the body hydrated and maintaining your skin's elasticity.
  • Load up on antioxidants- Whether, from your diet or skincare, antioxidants help your skin repair itself and allow the renewal process.
  • Adjust your sleeping habits- Sleep on your back, sleep on a silk pillowcase, and make sure to get 6-8 hours of sleep a night.

Implement A Skincare Routine With Ingredients That Can Make A Difference
Not all skincare is created equal. So the key here is to make sure you are using skincare products that contain active ingredients and antioxidants to accentuate and enhance the benefits of each ingredient for better wrinkle-free results.

For this portion of the blog post, I have partnered up with Hyalo AI Beauty to discuss the benefits of their Age-Defying Matcha Shot Eye Serum.

Green Tea: Move over Teavana, or should we say Starbucks, as green tea isn't just for drinking. There are many benefits of green tea for the skin, especially the eye area.

  • Collagen Booster: Green tea is rich in vitamin B-2. Vitamin B-2 can boost collagen levels, helping firm a more youthful, plump under-eye area.
  • Caffeine in green tea constricts the blood vessels within this sensitive tissue. This aids in reducing puffiness and inflammation and can help keep the area around the eye taut.
  • Even Out Fine Lines: The polyphenols neutralize free radicals that can lead to premature aging by plumping up the skin, nourishing and evening out your skin tone. You can even delay the signs of sun damage, age spots, saggy skin, and fine lines; now how cool is that?
  • Moisturizes The Skin: Green tea fights free radicals and boosts overall skin hydration. It contains several vitamins, including vitamin E, which provides long-lasting moisture for a visibly youthful, smoother-looking, and glowing complexion.

Seaweed Complex: Aids in defying free-radical UV damage by healing eye puffiness, crows feet, and dark circles.

Witch Hazel AI: It is antibacterial and helps to reduce swelling and eye puffiness.

Pearl AI: Helps by brightening the eye area and shielding the skin from dryness and premature aging.

Polypeptide Complex: A proprietary blend of national proteins that defies discoloring pigments, helping with the dark undereye area.

Wake Up With Hyalo AI Beauty Matcha Shot Eye Serum
You don't have time for tired eyes, so wake up with Matcha Shot Time Defying Eye Serum.

Apply Matcha Shot in circular motions around the eyes, concentrating on the region under the eye.

The serum should be used in the morning and evening and applied to cleansed skin, and one pump should be enough to target both eyes generously.

How To Prevent And Treat Under Eye Wrinkles At Home

How To Prevent And Treat Under Eye Wrinkles At Home By Barbies Beauty Bits

Preventing and treating under-eye wrinkles at home have been on the rise. As the last year and a half, it has have been all about the eyes. That's right; our eyes are taking center stage, but are your eyes ready to be the center of attention?

Mask wearings and the Zoom meetings forced many to look at themselves with unfavorable lighting and awkward angles, noticing some features that make you look older than you are.

Think about it. It is one thing sitting in a boardroom meeting, but it is another sitting in a meeting starring at yourself on a computer screen for hours on end. Before the pandemic, a glimpse of ourselves in a mirror in the bathroom was all we saw. But now, with the close-up from video conferencing, people are like:

  • Oh my, I never noticed all the eye wrinkles every time I smile or talk.
  • Why do I look so tired?
  • Where did those under-eye bags come from?
  • Why is my makeup creasing under my eyes?

It's no wonder so many of us are getting a complex about our features, AKA, the Zoom Boom, with an increase in cosmetic procedures with Eyelift surgery, in particular, reporting a 167% increase in inquiries.

The pandemic has had a ripple effect on another industry: The beauty industry, particularly at-home skincare. Specifically to combat dark circles, puffiness, under-eye folds, and crows feet. Their cause is linked to many factors, from tiredness to thinning skin due to a loss of collagen. And if you ask me a perk me up is in order, wouldn't you say? And ALIVER Skin is here to help with just that!

Before discussing ways to banish those eye issues needle and knife-free, using skincare from ALIVER, I think it is essential to understand the causes and preventions to address aging eye skin adequately.

The Common Places We See Wrinkles Is Around The Eyes
You look in the mirror, and what are those crinkly areas around the eyes that you see? Crow's feet! While we may say the eyes are the windows to our souls, they present a clear picture of something else; premature aging, as unfortunately, this thin, delicate skin around the eyes is one of the first to show signs of aging.

Most Common Reasons We Get Wrinkles Around The Eyes

No 1: Facial Expressions Main Cause For Eye Wrinkles
These pesky wrinkles appear from facial expressions like smiling, furrowing your brow, or squinting but fade when the expression stops. However, if these habits become continual, the creases become more profound and permanent because the skin loses its ability to snap back into place.

No. 2: Exposure To Free Radicals Create Premature Aging
Two of the most visible effects of free radicals are wrinkles and the breakdown of collagen. While avoiding total exposure to free radicals is almost impossible. It is possible to delay the process by limiting our exposure to unnecessary free radicals and several external culprits like pollution, overexposure to the sun, even ingredients in makeup that can cause early signs of aging.

No 4: Everyday Habits Can Lead To Eye Wrinkles
Several other factors, including our daily choices, can also influence the aging process of our skin:

  • Sleeping on your stomach with your face buried in a cotton pillow
  • Staring at a computer all-day
  • Drinking too much alcohol
  • Squinting
  • Eating processed foods
  • Not wearing sunscreen daily
  • Smiling all the time
  • Roughly removing your eye makeup
  • Rubbing your eyes
  • Not wearing sunglasses
  • Lack of sleep
  • And more

No. 5: Aging
When we age, our skin gradually loses collagen and elastin. When you squint, for instance, your muscles contract – fold – and straighten out again. The elastin in your body is responsible for returning this action to its original state. But when the production of collagen and elastin slows down, your body will eventually not be able to snap back, eventually leading to crows feet, under-eye wrinkles, and wrinkle folds.

Best Anti-aging Eye Creams
While we touched on many ways to prevent wrinkles above, there are some other tell tail occurrences around the eye area that can make us look older.  So I thought it would be best to share two skincare products with you that would address wrinkles as well as sagging skin, loss of collagen, and puffy eyes.

The cliche term, which is so true, applies here: ‘Prevention is better than cure.’ And that is where great skincare like those from ALIVER come into play as while we all know aging may be a fact of life, but these eye creams I'm getting ready to share are pretty great at hiding it!

These formulas are ultra-effective and specifically made for the skin around the eyes, which is thinner and more delicate than the face. So, if you are ready to elevate your eye-treatment experience in the comfort of your own home, continue reading!

Look For A Nourishing Vitamin C Serum For The Eye Area
While a cup of coffee may be great for a wake-up call for yourself in the morning. When it comes to perking up fatigued skin and brightening up your tired eyes, it's time to call in a better reinforcement from one of my favorite skincare ingredients, Vitamin C- one of the vital active ingredients in ALIVER anti-aging eye serum.

Vitamin C ranks among the best active ingredient to use around the sensitive eye area and is loved by dermatologists. It is an excellent source of antioxidants that protect the skin and combat free radicals that lead to premature aging. It also has some extraordinary abilities to:

  • Firm and smooth the skin by stimulating collagen production
  • Brighten the skin by increasing cell turnover
  • Even our skin tone and skin texture
  • Minimize dark spots and discoloration by inhibiting melanin production
  • Increase hydration to effectively reduce the appearance and severity of:
    • Crows’ feet
    • Fine lines
    • Deep wrinkles
    • Eye bags

Some More Bits: If a thick, rich eye cream is not your thing, a serum like this is just for you. I personally love that this serum feels weightless on the skin but can still plump fine lines and wakes up tired eyes.

best eye masks by barbies beauty bits

Best Eye Masks
I am saving the best for last with this ALIVER Collagen Gold Moisturizing Anti-Aging Eye Mask! A natural collagen boost for your eyes, the ALIVER Collagen eye mask is formulated to target dark circles, eye bags and reduce the appearance of fine lines, giving your eye area an overall refreshed look.

These under-eye masks include Hyaluronic Acid, a star skincare ingredient for any anti-wrinkle routine. So yes, it is my secret weapon to visibly softens fine lines and wrinkles by keeping the skin hydrated, plump, and radiant.

And if that wasn't enough, this fantastic eye mask is carefully formulated with a rich blend of some other powerful natural active ingredients to restore, soothe, and improve elasticity under the eye. Ingredients like nicotinamide, pearl powder, micro gold flakes, Vitamin C, grape seed, and pomegranate extract, to name a few.

I love to use these before a Zoom call; they are ultra-moisturizing and excellent for treating wrinkles under the eyes. (The number one cause for that makeup you and everyone else see creasing and settling into fine lines)!

Bonus Tip: I like to keep the under-eye masks in my skincare fridge. Not only does storing them in the fridge help the masks to last longer, but the cooling sensation is perfect for bagging puffiness, reducing wrinkles, and brightening a tired appearance.

To Sum It Up
Depending on the cause of your aging eye issues, you can take adequate steps to healthy skin by minimizing some of the causes and everyday occurrences I shared. And remember, no matter your age, one fact stands true, skincare for the eye area should have a firm place in your beauty routine. And with the above home remedies, you will be on your way to successfully prevent and treat under-eye wrinkles without having to spend a lot of time or money!

Practice Face Yoga
Face yoga might not be a treatment as such, but it will tone and tighten your face, stretching your muscles and boosting circulation. The best thing is, you only need to do a few minutes a day to see results, and you can do it while you watch TV.

Shave Your Face
Yes, you read that correctly. I said that women should shave their faces, and I am not talking about shaving to remove unwanted facial hair but instead shaving your entire face to help improve your skin tone, texture and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Now, I know you are thinking won't this make my peach fuzz grow back thick, dark, or coarse? The answer is no, it will not.  It will grow back the same texture as before shaving.

SHOULD WOMEN SHAVE THEIR FACE BY BARBIES BEAUTY BITS

Shaving your entire face helps to soften the surface irregularities by mildly exfoliating the top layer of dead skin cells more thoroughly than say with a facial scrub. It is less abrasive than microdermabrasion. It can also contribute to getting rid of the vellus hairs (peach fuzz) that we all have, which on some people can make their complexion a bit dull.

Furthermore, exfoliating your face by shaving also stimulates your skin to produce new skin cells and collagen (whenever there's trauma to the skin, collagen is stimulated to help cell renewal), which gives your complexion a smoother, radiant appearance. It can also soften the appearance of fine lines by removing the layer of dead skin that contained them.

To Sum It Up
Some of the best beauty treatments take time. You might have a self-care routine that you like to devote yourself to when you've got a free evening. But, they don't have to. Even if you've just got a free 30 minutes, there's plenty that you can do to boost your skin tone, improve your mood, and generally give yourself a lift by simply implementing so of these beauty treatments!

Bye, Bye Under Eye Wrinkles With VIIcode T2 Oxygen Eye Cream Fit For A Queen

Bye, Bye Under Eye Wrinkles With VIIcode T2 Oxygen Eye Cream Fit For A Queen By Barbies Beauty Bits

"Mirror, Mirror On The Wall, Who's The Fairest Of Them All?"

Everyone loves to be pampered and treated like royalty. But what if this luxury could also apply towards your aging skin? Sound good? It’s better than good with VIIcode T2 Oxygen Eye Cream.

Beauties, you’ve heard me say it time and time again, getting older has both its ups and downs.   And although some may say that “wrinkles indicate where smiles have been”. Or “I’ve got designer bags under my eyes” … While those quotes are cute to read, there is nothing cute about tired, aging eyes!

So, if you want to see how you can help to bag some of those under eye issues, continue reading!

For this post, I have partnered up with VIIcode.  This company has been around for centuries!  Starting with Byrne Victor, who believed “every woman (including Queen Josephine, wife of Napoleon), could be the most beautiful in her way.”  This eye cream was invented for the queen more than 255 years ago, and now we too can experience this royal luxury.

Who would have known that the issue of aging around the eyes has been a concern for that long?  But if you think about it, all the factors that can contribute to this aging skin like heredity, pigmentation irregularities, environmental factors, fluid retention, or mother nature’s clock hasn’t really changed.  Hence, anti-aging eye creams are one of the most sought out products on the market, and therefore I was excited to try out this under eye cream for myself.

About VIIcode T2 Oxygen Eye Cream

Now before I get into the product I thought the packaging was cute as it reminded me of a satchel of gold for the king, oops, I mean the QUEEN, don’t you think?

The luxurious royal formulation of VIIcode T2 Oxygen eye cream is designed to provide constant care for your eyes. During the day, it helps to protect our skin against environmental factors like air pollution, UV light, etc. At night, it works to help reverse the signs of aging by repairing the damaged cells and rejuvenating our undereye skin.

This eye cream is a non-greasy formula which is great as some creams end up in your eye which is not pleasant. What’s more? Are the ingredients that are in the cream. It is alcohol-free and safe to use with every skin type, plus it features…
  • Extracts of evening primrose to help boost blood circulation and smooth out those fine lines around the eyes.
  • Avocado & Elderberry which are excellent antioxidants.
  • Chamomilla Recutita to help with reducing dry, flaky skin while restoring suppleness.

How To Use
With the cream comes an applicator, which I was pleasantly surprised as with most skincare products we end up wasting the product on your finger, but not with this.

Not only does this crescent moon shaped spatula act as an applicator it also is used to activate (prep) the under eye before application. Simply close your eye, and softly massage your under-eye area with the crescent activate tool to smooth and refresh. Then scoop out some eye cream (a tiny about goes a long way) and apply the cream under the eye area with the applicator.

IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that the skin surrounding your eye is very delicate and thin. Hence, you do not want to be pulling and tugging on the skin when applying this or any eye treatment product.

To use, tap a pea-sized dab of cream underneath each eye using the crescent applicator. You do not want to press too hard as you can cause wrinkling if you pull too hard. If you decide not to use the applicator, apply with your ring finger. Using this finger is best as your others are too strong and the tugging as mentioned can lead to premature aging.

My Concluding Thoughts
As you know, I only share products with you that I like. I had used VIIcodes products before and liked them, so I was happy to try this eyecream. This cream is great at protecting the delicate folds near my eyes (notice I did not say wrinkles) from dehydration. Also, the Chamomilla Recutita ingredients are great at removing some of the dead layers of skin cells.  Unfortunately, exfoliating the under-eye area is not an easy thing to do safely, so this cream helped with revealing younger refreshed skin from beneath.

The jar of cream is smaller than I would like as this is something that can be used both day and in the evening, but I guess it makes great for travel.

Lastly, in addition to using a skincare product for maintenance and correction, I always say prevention is the best anti-aging device, so please remember to use an SPF and wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the harmful rays of the sun. Oh, and make sure to drink plenty of water!

Until next time!

Top 5 Ways To Get Rid Of Under Eye Bags And Dark Circles- A SOLVADERM EYEVAGE REVIEW

Top 5 Ways To Get Rid Of Under Eye Bags And Dark Circles- A SOLVADERM EYEVAGE REVIEW, by Barbie's Beauty Bits

Are you over people thinking you are tired, accusing you of staying out all night or worst yet thinking you are older than you are, all because of your bags and dark circles under your eyes?

While all of these things can contribute to dark under eye circles and bags, there are also some other factors that can be the true culprit(s) like your age, heredity, pigmentation irregularities and fluid retention, just to name a few.  As you can see, there are many reasons why, but are there any remedies for these unsightly under eye imperfections?  There sure are, so if you want to find out how you can bag those under eye issues continue reading!

My top 5 ways to help minimize those dark under eye circles and puffiness!

Cosmetics: You can cover your dark circles by using lipstick and some other cosmetic products.  Keep in mind you can’t use any color of lipstick, you need to consider your skin tone.  If you have darker skin, bright orange-red lipstick works best when trying to conceal. Why does this work?

Think of a color wheel, where colors can neutralize each other. Dark circles usually appear as blue or green.  Using a bright orange-red color, which is the opposite on a color wheel, helps to counteract the darkness, hence minimizing the appearance of dark circles.

To give your eyes an extra lift from those bags, apply a concealer using the three-dot method, forming a triangle. Two dots, one on the outside of your under the eye, one near your nose/tear duct area to create the base of the triangle.  The 3rd dot is used to create the point towards your cheek. (fill all in to finish the triangle).

Sleep: Changing up the way you sleep by elevating the head, can help to reduce fluid retention.  Hence, you will need to sleep on your back, with your head propped up on a few extra pillows.

Your Diet: Avoid salt & drink plenty of water as dehydration causes sagging skin and salt causes swelling.

Cold Compresses: Use a cold spoon or a cold washcloth on the eye area.  I’ve also had great results with refrigerating some of my Anti-aging eye creams, but be careful as refregiration of some creams can reduce the effectiveness.

Speaking of eye creams, I saved the best for last which EYEVAGE, a professional strength, anti-aging eye rejuvenation treatment, by Solvaderm Skincare.

I’ve become a big fan of the Solvadern Skincare line as their products are recommended and used by dermatologists and skincare professionals worldwide. Plus they are paraben free!

Solvaderm Eyevage Review, by top beauty blogger barbies beauty bits

So how does the Eyevage cream help?  This multi-action age-defying eye cream was developed to address the varied and complex issues that I have been discussing.  The anti-aging serum penetrates quickly to improve micro-circulation in the under-eye zone and lighten unsightly dark circles.  Plus its advanced firming complex is infused with healing antioxidants and anti-inflammatories to help minimize puffiness, intensive skin-softening hydration and work to banish fine lines and wrinkles.  Bottom line, the Eyevage focuses on the entire eye contour to make it appear visibly brighter, captivatingly radiant, and radically younger-looking, ultimately helping you to conceal and BAG those ugly under-eye issues!

After washing your face, you’ll want to apply a pea-sized amount of the cream and dab around each eye (with your ring finger) following the eye socket area. For best results, I like to apply in the morning and before bed every day to help nourish and maintain hydration. AND DON’T FORGET TO KEEP IT REFRIGERATOR as the coolness instantly soothes and minimizes puffiness!

So there you have it beauties, my top 5 ways to get rid of under eye bags and dark circles, until next time!

The Missing Piece To Reducing Puffy, Tired Looking Eyes And Dark Circles!

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Radha’s Beauty.
Views expressed were not influenced in anyway.

Puzzled, about eye bags, dark circles, puffiness & tired looking eyes? Well here is the missing piece to that…Radha Beauty Intensive Youth Eye Gel.

This eye gel was given to me to test and I was quite happy with the product. While I don’t have dark circles under my eyes, I do get puffiness. And if I had a stressful week, tired looking eyes seem to be waiting for me come Thursday.

Before I let you know my experience with the product, I would like to let you know about this eye gel.  Radha’s Beauty Intensive Youth Eye Gel has an innovative combination of ingredients for superior results. These key ingredients include the following:

  • Plant Stem Cells, that help to protect against sun damage and other external aggressors.
  • Hyaluronic Acid, to help hydrate the skin.
  • Matrixyl 3000 that helps to firm and tighten the skin.

Additional Benefits:
  • Eliminates dark circles, puffiness, dryness and sagging around the eyes.
  • Increases elasticity and plumps the skin.
  • Provides a youthful texture.
  • Moisturizes the delicate eye area to prevent premature aging.
  • A BONUS… It can also be used on the entire face for an enhanced glow and an more radiant skin.
Radha Beauty Intensive Youth Eye Gel Review By Barbie's Beauty BIts

My Experience:
First, I noticed when applying the formula, that is has a cooling effect and a ever so slightly hint of cucumber.  This was quite surprising, until I read further that this eye gel also contains aloe, cucumber, Vitamin E and Rosehip oil.  In addition to using this under my eye, I applied it to the entire eye area, finishing it off by putting it all over my face.

The gel has helped to reduce some of my puffiness, I could see a difference with just a few weeks use. Does it help with wrinkles and dark circles? Unfortunately, I can’t confirm that claim as I don’t have dark circles.  With regards to wrinkles, the product did help in hydrating the skin and eliminated some sagginess under my eyes. In turn, this could eventually help to minimize some of my wrinkles.  However, I think it is too soon to tell.

Lastly, if you follow my blog regularly, you know that if I don’t like a product I don’t talk about it.  This Radha Beauty Intensive Youth Eye Gel, gets two thumbs up from me. I really enjoyed it and will continue using in my skincare regimen.
